My Fav Spring Looks & Trends

Looking back on the Spring/Summer 2009 collections, I found a collection of looks and trends that really stood out to me and that I fell in love with. I'm definitely the type of person that likes to organize the trends and looks I love so I can create a shopping list of sorts that helps me really nail down what I need (ok, want) to buy to look chic.

These grungy, rocker looks are a great way to show your edgy side this spring. A blazer with a strong shoulder paired with distressed jeans or leggings has a sexy masculine appeal, though the oversized top with tons of leg definitely is sexy as well. A high studded black heel is the perfect way to complete this look.






I generally am not a fan of shimmery looks, but the Jasmine Di Milo look especially changed my mind. Finding a relaxed dress in an earthy tone is the way to go, accessorizing it perfectly with a matching platform shoe and a chic matte long sweater to tone down the shimmer. Furthermore, a softly shimmering gown is a great option for evening, looking sweet without being sickeningly so.





The best way to achieve that enviable effortlessly chic look this spring is by using a neutral color palette and playing with textures and edgy, fashionable vibes. This look is all about finding clothes that not only move well but make a statement, whether it's the artfully tattered appeal of Rodarte, the Parisian, sophisticated feel of Erin Fetherston's piece, or the boho, vivacious look of Alessandro Dell'Acqua. Nude shoes are the way to go with these looks, but should be interesting as well.





The old rule which has been done away with for quite some time was that you could only wear white after Easter and before Labor Day. With Easter just around the corner, now is the perfect time to break out the whites in full force. A white, womanly dress is bright and very fitting for spring. My favorite look is the defined waist and black accessories, which really make a statement.






This trend is probably my favorite! Since this was my first winter up North, going into spring I'm dying for color and pretty floral patterns. A flouncy, bright dress instantly makes a girl feel feminine, cute, and perked up, and paired with a strappy matching sandal, this look is oh-so-chic.





Looking like a lady is always chic, and this spring is no exception. The three looks above show that a sophisticated, ladylike look can be achieved using very different colors and shapes. Whether you go for a retro, colorful look, a sexy, neutral and accessorized look, or an avant-garde black and white look, you will look effortlessly "in" this spring.
